Catamounts Fall to Lions

Keyser, W.Va - Potomac State Men's Basketball (6-7) hosted the CCBC Dundalk Lions (7-6) on January 8th at Lough Gymnasium to kickoff 2024.

In the first half, Dundalk's Andrew Molina had the first bucket in the opening minute of action. Soon later, PSC's Rodney Vilsaint would score two free-throws and draw the score 2-2. The Lions would soon find their footing jumping to a 27-10 lead at the 10:26 mark. The Catamounts would outscore their opponent 18-14 over the last 10 minutes, but they still were down 41-28 at the break as Dundalk's Hussain Williams led both teams with 11 points.

Dundalk opened the second half with buckets from Malachi Washington and Xavier Barrow to add to the lead. PSC's Daniel Charlot would follow up with 5 points and a Damian Thompson 3 pointer to cut their deficit 36-45 at 16:12 to go. Through the final half, Potomac State would get as close as 7 points several times but could not cut the lead any closer. Key scores down the stretch would result in the 82-68 win for the CCBC Dundalk Lions.

Five players scored double figures for the Lions being led by Charles Neverdon with 19 points and 6 rebounds, Shakur Smith with 14 points, and Xavier Barrow, Malachi Washington, and Hussain Williams with 13 points.

The Catamounts had four players with double-digit scoring and were led by Eugene Bryant with 11 points and 16 rebounds, Damian Thompson with 16 points, Rodney Vilsaint with 14 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 assists, and Daniel Charlot with 10 points and 6 rebounds.
