Men's Basketball falls to NJCAA DI Allegany College of Maryland

The NJCAA Division I Allegany College of Maryland men's basketball team defeated Anne Arundel Community College 69-62 this Saturday in the Jenkins Gymnasium.

AACC shot 34.8 percent from the floor on 23-66 shooting.  The Riverhawks made 4-16 from behind the arc, and went 12-17 from the foul line.  Jemuel Brown led AACC obtaining a double-double with 17 points while grabbing 13 rebounds.  Larry Stevenson and Marcus Dentley each added 14 points for the Riverhawks.

AACC led by as many as 13 points to conclude the first half, at 35-22, taking full advantage of being sent to the foul line by the Trojans.  Into the second half, Allegany answered immensely by capitalizing on 15 AACC turnovers and then outscoring the Riverhawks by 20 points.  Sophmore Jonathan Mulmore led that offensive drive, scoring 29 for the Trojans.  Aggressive play by both teams kept the game tight in the second half, but AACC was unable to come back from their once, 13 point lead.

The Riverhawks next match-up is a road game at the College of Southern Maryland on Wednesday, January 13th.  Tip-off at 7 p.m.
