The College of Southern Maryland Hawks women's volleyball team swept the Anne Arundel Community College Riverhawks 3-0 on October 12 in La Plata, Maryland.

CSM won the sets 25-18, 25-13, 25-13.

With the victory, the Hawks improved their overall record to 18-2; CSM's 18 wins this year is the most the CSM volleyball program has reached in a season since 2010 when the Hawks went 24-12.

Freshman right side hitter/setter Maria Peña led CSM in kills with 12. Sophomore outside hitter Ellyssa Fultz and sophomore setter/right side hitter Lillian Reynolds registered eight apiece. Reynolds provided 28 assists.

Peña and freshman defensive specialist Katrina Swanson recorded three service aces each.

Reynolds led CSM in digs with 18, a career-high for her. Peña, Swanson, and sophomore defensive specialist Alyssa Powell all tallied 14 digs. Freshman middle blocker Leah Quade made two solo blocks, tying her season-high.

The Hawks have now won seven matches in a row, which is the second time they've done so this year as they opened the season on an eight-match win streak.

CSM is 12-2 in Region 20 Division II with the region tournament set to begin next week.
