Cecil Rolls Past Riverhawks

NORTH EAST, Md. - A fast start propelled the Seahawks to a 13-6 victory over Anne Arundel on Saturday afternoon. 

Cecil plated eight runs in the first on the Riverhawk's Jacob McDonald, the reigning Region 20 DII Player of the Month. Dylan Byler (4-4) and Justin Cordero (3 RBI) manufactured seven of the Seahawks 13 runs on the evening.

The Seahawks stand at 10-13 (2-3 Region 20).

Game Highlights

Cecil tallied seven runs on six hits, three walks and an error to start the game. Byler's bat began to heat up in the third, driving in a pair on a double to right. Anne Arundel finally got on the board with three runs in the bottom of the inning, but Byler appeared again in the fifth and seventh with RBI knocks. Lane Weismiller picked up a 1-RBI double of his own in the sixth to account for another run.

Dylan Nickle (3-2) chaired four batters and allowed four earned runs to take the win. Jesus Ramos hurled a flawless final two innings in relief.
