Lions Lose Both Games Against Montgomery

The Lions come up short against Montgomery losing both games of the double header 5-2 and 17-11.

The first game the Lions struggled offensively only having 8 base runners in 7 innings. The Lions were down 4-0 after 4 innings and got one back in the 5th to make it 4-1. In the 7th  the Raptors scored another run to up the lead to 5-1 but the Lions weren't done yet. Chris Dockins got on and made it to second because of an error. With 2 outs Kaleb Whitlock singled to score Dockins 5-2. Nick White then walked. With the tying run at the plate the Lions have a chance but the Raptors close it out with a strikeout. Lions lose 5-2 in 7 innings.

The second game was something else. After 3 innings the Raptors were up 11-2. In the bottom of the 4th the Lions Chris Dockins led off with a single. Jack Brack followed with a walk. A failed pick off attempt scored Dockins and moved Brack over to second 11-3. Shawn Sinclair Walked. Whitlock walked on a wild pitch that scored Brack 11-4. The Raptors make a pitching change. White walks to load the bases. Adam Harrison walks in a run 11-5. Another pitching change. A wild pitch scores Whitlock 11-6 and then Bennett Musselman walks to load the bases again. EJ Harrison then hits a sac fly to score White 11-7. Dockins who lead the inning off with a single, singles again to score the 2 men left on base 11-9. Brack walks to put two men on before the Raptors 4th pitcher of the inning. Eliott Holcomb doubled to score both men on base and tie the game at 11-11. The Lions then gave up 6 in the top of the 5th to make it 17-11 and that 4th pitcher for the Raptors held it down for the next two innings to end the game in 6 innings because of lack of light. Lions lose 17-11 in 6 innings.

Chris Dockins hit 2 of 6 with 2 RBI, 3 runs and a walk. Kaleb Whitlock had 2 RBI, 3 runs, 2 walks and 2 stolen bases. Bennett Musselman was 1 of 3 with a RBI, a run and 4 walks.

Lions play fellow cross county CCBC Catonsville on Tuesday the 10th at Dundalk and Thursday the 12th at Catonsville both games starting at 3:30.
