Softball Explodes for 14-0 Shutout To Get Split vs. Butler CCC

Lorain County Community College split a doubleheader with Butler County Community College Thursday afternoon in their last contests of the 2023 season.  After dropping game one 7-6, LCCC responded with a 14-0 thrashing of the Pioneers in game two.

Mistakes plagued the Commodores in game one which allowed the Pioneers to score three unearned runs off starter Faith Hamilton.

Hamilton pitched both games for the Commodores to combine for 12 innings pitched with seven punch outs against five walks including a complete game shutout in the second contest.

Madison Pennington connected on a three run home run in the first game for LCCC, part of a 5-for-8 afternoon which included a double and five RBI.  In game one, the Commodores had nine hits as a team and followed it up with 12 hits and zero errors in game two.

Kortlynn Jameson went 3-for-6 with a double and three runs batted in while Gracie Frey had four stolen bases.
