Second Half Surge Boosts Lions Past Seahawks

NORTH EAST - Cecil men's basketball could not hold on to a first half lead, falling 78-66 to the Raritan Valley Lions to close out the Cecil Mixer.

The Seahawks led by two heading into the break, but the Lions outscored the tournament hosts 43-29 in the second half.

Both teams were extremely effecient from the floor, with Raritan Valley sinking 50% of its shots while Cecil knocked down 44% of its attempts.

The Seahawks dip to 3-3 after the loss.

Turning Point

The two teams traded the leads through the first thirty minutes of the game. Cecil led by one with 10:56 to play in the second, but an 8-0 run over the next three minutes put Raritan Valley ahead by nine. The Seahawks pulled within four over the next few minutes, but the Lions pushed their advantage back to nine soon after.
