Women’s Basketball Secures Back to Back Victories
Bronx, NY- The Cardinals have responded well to consecutive losses as this win at Hostos Community College makes it two wins in a row to bring their record to 5-4 on the year. Each team got off to a slow start as Hostos took an 11-10 lead to the 2nd quarter. Catonsville took control of the game from this point outscoring Hostos 21-10 in the 2nd quarter taking a 10 point lead to halftime. The Cardinals continued this consistent play in the 2nd half and went on to win the game 69-59.
Cache Waters and Nakiyah Johnson were dominant on the offensive end for Catonsville and combined for 41 of the team's 69 points. Each shot an outstanding 9-12 from the floor even adding a combined three three-pointers. Akirra Pullen added 10 points and 7 rebounds of the bench for CCBC in her first game of the season. The Cardinals controlled the tempo on offense and this helped lead them to a season high shooting percentage of 59.6% from the field.
This is the second time this season the team has won consecutive games, and brings them back to a winning record on the season. The Lady Cardinals look to make it three straight when they host Hagerstown Community College on Tuesday, November 17th at 5PM.
