GROVE CITY'S BIG SECOND HALF SINKS WOLFPACK

YOUNGWOOD, Pa. - The Westmoreland County Community College men's basketball team trailed by just two at halftime, but Grove City's JV program exploded for 63 second-half points and pulled away for a 107-75 victory over the Wolfpack Thursday night.

Westmoreland fell behind big early, as the visitors raced out to a 16-2 lead to start the contest. The Wolfpack started chipping away and behind 13 first-half points from Cam McKinney and 10 from Dylan Bubarth, Westmoreland was within a bucket at 44-42 at the break.

Grove City started the second half hot as well and increased their lead to 69-61 before using a 12-0 spurt around the midway point of the second half to take control. The Wolverines knocked down seven three-pointers after halftime and 11 in the game to continue to pull away for the victory.

The setback came despite big scoring nights from a pair of Wolfpack players. McKinney poured in a career-high 27 points, including four three-pointers, while Bubarth scored 17 and made four steals. Leading the team in assists was Joel Lonigro, who passed out seven for the game.

The Wolfpack return to the court Saturday with a road trip to Erie Community College, who is ranked 11th in the nation in NJCAA Division II. The game will tip-off at 3:30 pm following the women's game, which will begin the doubleheader at 1:30 pm
