WOLFPACK UNABLE TO CAPITALIZE ON CHANCES, FALL TO PSU-GREATER ALLEGHENY

YOUNGWOOD, Pa. - Despite out-shooting visiting Penn State-Greater Allegheny 19-17 for the match, the Westmoreland County Community College men's soccer team could not capitalize on their chances and fell 3-0 to the Lions Monday afternoon.

Greater Allegheny scored twice early in the first half, including the first goal on a PK. In the second half, the Wolfpack posted 12 shots, including several quality chances, but just couldn't bury one. The best chance came in the closing minutes when Ethan Turnbull ripped a shot that banged off the cross bar. The Lions would tack on a final score in the closing minute to complete the scoring.

In net for Westmoreland, Luke Brummett stopped eight shots.

The Wolfpack are back in action Wednesday when they host Penn State-New Kensington at 4 pm in the final match of an opening four-game home stand.
