Lady Cardinals Drop Conference Match-up

Catonsville, MD- With a tough one-point less against Montgomery on Tuesday evening, Catonsville falls to 13-9 on the season.

After securing three wins in a row, the Lady Cardinals were looking to add to their momentum when they hosted conference rival Montgomery College. Montgomery came into the game with one of the best records in MD Juco (14-4). It was clear the game would be a tight one- with the ending score coming down to 82-81.

Cache Waters would lead the way for the Cardinals, shooting 10-19 from the field and securing 22 points. Tylea Galloway would secure yet another double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds- while adding six assists. Ariana Smith-Rodriguez would contribute to the double-digit scoring herself with 18 points on the evening.

Overall, the Cardinals did not perform as well as they usually do. They shot 29-76 (38.2%) from the field (almost identical to their opponent), 4-19 (21.1%) from the three, and a lackluster 19-32 (59.4%) from the line. The Cardinals would also turn the ball over more than their opponent, while only putting up four points off turnovers as well. Despite Catonsville out-rebounding Montgomery and having a 10-point lead early in the second half, their missed opportunities would cost them the game- and their winning streak. With a little more accuracy from the line, the Lady Cardinals may have been able to run away with a win.

Catonsville looks to add their 14th win of the season against Frederick Community College on Saturday, February 15th at 1P.M.
