Women's Soccer Overpowers College of Southern Maryland

ARNOLD, MD – Led by three goals and a pair of assists from Erika Jackson, the Anne Arundel Community College women's soccer team defeated visiting College of Southern Maryland Thursday evening at Siegert Field.

Facing a scoreless tie headed into halftime, the Riverhawks went ahead with a pair of goals in the 58th minute. Jackson put AACC on the board with an unassisted tally and then assisted the first of two goals from Sudy Choc-Ramirez just 52 seconds later.

CSM scored less than a minute later, but Jackson posted back-to-back tallies, including a penalty kick in the 73rd minute to put AACC back on top by two.

Morgan Argubright and Alyssa Begunich traded goals after both assisting Jackson's second, and Sudy Choc-Ramirez closed out the scoring in the 89th minute off a go-ahead ball from Jackson.

AACC keeper Sarah Ward made five stops in the game. CSM netminder Camille Colley made five stops in the loss.

The Riverhawks outshot their visitors at a 22-10 clip, and earned 10 corner kicks to the Hawks' two.

AACC is back in action this weekend at the Howard Community College Dragon Tournament where the Riverhawks face the Fashion Institute of Technology Saturday at 11 am, and Rowan College South Jersey – Gloucester Sunday at 11 am.
