The story of the game begins like many others this season, with the Knights stifling defense. They held the Catamounts to just 36% shooting from the field in the first quarter.  Smith found her rhythm early, scoring 10 in the first and powering the Knights to a 23-13 lead after one.

The second saw the defensive effort from the Knights continue, as they held the Catamounts to 30% shooting from the field in the period. Holmes's 10 points in the period allowed the Knights to enter halftime with a comfortable 23-point lead.

The Knights momentum carried into the second half, as they held the Catamounts to just 13 points. On the offensive end the Knights showed great efficiency, shooting 50% from the field in the third.  Seven Knights scored in the period Smith contributed eight points, Michaela Guest scored seven, and Cierra McGinlay scored five, powering the Knights to 28 points in the third.

The fourth saw the Catamounts offense begin to produce as they scored 20 points. Their efforts came too little too late as the Knights had already built a comfortable lead. Smith added another 11 points in the period, allowing the Knights to coast to a 33-point victory.

The Knights will look to continue this momentum into their next game, as they take on the College of Southern Maryland on the 24th. The tip off is set for 6:00 PM.
