The Prince George's Community College men's soccer team traded goals with The College of Southern Maryland's Hawks on Thursday afternoon, September 12th, finishing with pair of goals from each program by the final whistle to signal the tie.
The Hawks struck first early on before the Owls responded in the 27th minute on a goal from freshman Zico Tesheira which was assisted on by Frank Olom. Southern Maryland added another goal in the 38th to send Prince George's into halftime trailing 2-1. The Owls Jerson Chirino captured his first goal of the season quickly into the second half, scoring in the 50th off an assist by Charles Nguekam. The remaining 40 minutes were scoreless as both teams desperately tried to break the tie, but neither could find the back of the net.
The tie brings the Owls record to 4-1-1 on the season ahead of a three-game home stretch. Up first is Allegany College of Maryland on Tuesday, September 17th.
