Cardinals Close Out Regular Season with 2-1 Loss

Springfield, VA- The Cardinals closed out their season on Saturday with a 2-1 loss against NOVA.

With the regional tournament in their sight, Catonsville was looking to tack on a win in order to secure the highest possible seed. NOVA scored mid-way through the first half by Daniel Kwadwo. Later in the first half, Muhammed Maroof scored for the Cardinals, which evened up the score at one a piece. Maroof's tying goal would be his fourth on the season.

Despite a tightly fought first half, NOVA's Enrique Dentone would secure the game to give them their fourth win of the season.

Goalkeeper Anthony Maseda would play the entire game in the net while recording three saves. Maseda would close out the regular season with a total of 54 saves and a whopping .701 save percentage. His in-conference save percentage of .750 ties him for seventh in Maryland Juco.

Due to the loss, the Cardinals would end their regular season with a record of 7-9-2. Region XX DI action begins Saturday, October 26th. Tune in later this week to see which seed the Cardinals have earned.
