Cardinals Winning Streak Ends Against South Jersey

The CCBC Catonsville Cardinals softball team's winning streak came to an end on March 15 as they lost to Rowan College of South Jersey-Cumberland 4-2.

Out-hit 13-7, the Cardinals were unable to force a comeback as they had done in their previous home game, dropping to 5-5 on the season.

Falling behind 4-0 in the first four innings, the Cardinals finally started to see improvement in the bottom of the fourth when freshman second baseman Katie Weaver (Eastern Tech) singled to right field, bringing home sophomore outfielder Mackenzie Brooks (Hammond). The only other score for the Cardinals came in the bottom of the fifth when sophomore outfielder Abigail Heagy (Eastern Tech) smacked a one-run home run to make the final score 4-2.

Heagy would finish the day with a home run, an RBI, and a double. Freshman catcher Hailey Seaton (Liberty) would also add a double.
