Wolfpack Fall Short at Allegany 98-65

CUMBERLAND, Md – Allegany College of Maryland built a 14-point halftime lead and held off several comeback attempts from the Westmoreland County Community College men's basketball team Sunday afternoon to claim a 98-65 victory over the Wolfpack.

The major difference in the game was on the glass, as the Trojans held the Wolfpack to only 22 rebounds. Allegany used that to take a 50-36 halftime lead, but the Wolfpack tried to mount a comeback a couple times in the second half.

Tahiyr Vines continued his solid start to the season for Westmoreland. He was 6-for-14 from the floor, including 2-for-3 from the arc, and scored 17 points in the contest, while also grabbing 10 rebounds. Also reaching double digits in the game was Joel LoNigro with 18 points shooting 6-for-9 and draining a three, and J'akir Hampton scoring 12 points.

The Wolfpack will be back on the court this Wednesday, March 24 as they host Penn Highlands, scheduled for a 7 pm start.
