WOLFPACK DOWNED BY PENN STATE-NEW KENSINGTON

YOUNGWOOD, Pa. - The Westmoreland County Community College volleyball team made good strides in their second match of the season Saturday, a 3-0 setback to visiting Penn State-New Kensington.

The Wolfpack began the season with a 3-0 loss to Penn State-Fayette's JV team Thursday night, but the team's play was much sharper in today's match. The Lions took the opening sets by scores of 25-11 and 25-12. In the third, freshman Haley Kolar helped serve the Wolfpack to a 4-0 lead to open the set and the team built an 11-5 lead at one point. New Ken chipped away to eventually regain the lead and close out the win with a 25-15 decision.

Kolar did a little of everything in the match, totaling three aces, three digs, two assists and one kill. Pacing the team in kills was freshman Anna Edmonds with three, while freshman setter Jaesa Leith also had three kills and passed out seven assists. Sophomore Julia Jumper had a pair of kills in the match as well.

Westmoreland will be back in action on Monday when they travel to Penn Highlands to open WPCC play.
