Baseball Edged Late at CCBC Essex, 3-2

ESSEX, MD – The Anne Arundel Community College baseball team was edged, 3-2, in a single game at CCBC-Essex Thursday, April 10. After taking a 2-1 lead in the top of the sixth, the Riverhawks surrendered single runs in the bottom of the sixth and seventh innings.

Noah Rafsky hit a double and stole a pair of bases in the game for the Riverhawks, who move to 10-21 on the season.

The Knights (9-14) got on the board in the fourth on an RBI single. AACC answered back in the top of the fifth as Ryan Key drove in Bradley O'Neal. Andrew Revels hit an RBI triple in the sixth to give the Riverhawks a 2-1 lead, but it was short-lived as the Knights got runs in the sixth and seventh on RBI singles.

Riverhawks' starter Blake Rebstock struck out two and walked three while scattering eight hits in six innings of work. Reliever Zachary Rees took the loss striking out one and giving up two hits over the final two innings.

AACC stranded 11 Essex runners on base in the game, including at least one in every inning except the sixth. The Riverhawks had four hits in the game – two for extra bases.

AACC returns home on Saturday to host Chesapeake College in an NJCAA DII Region XX doubleheader at 1 and 3 pm.
