Riverhawk's Season Ends with Semi-Final Loss

ARNOLD, MD – The Riverhawk's women's basketball team of Anne Arundel Community College had a tough end to their season as they fell short of reaching the DIII Region 20 Championship Game.  It was the number one seeded Raptors of Montgomery College with the 80-61 victory over the Riverhawks in the semifinal matchup on Saturday morning.

Bri'ana Oliver recodered 22 points for AACC, and Jasmine Wallace put up 10. Heather Young tied her season high with 13 points on the day.
The Riverhawks battled relentlessly for four quarters and even held a six-point lead over the Raptors, keeping it a tight match-up for the majority of the game.  AACC shot 28.8% on the floor (21-73), went 4-15 from beyond the arc, and shot 65.2% at the free throw line (15-23).
It was the Raptors explosive shooting late in the fourth quarter that ultimately led them to the nineteen-point victory, as they drained 5 of their 9 total three-pointers in the remaining minutes of the game.
Nicole Cunningham led for Montgomery College with a double-double scoring 22 points and grabbing 21 rebounds, Hillaevi Mensah added 18 points, and Danielle Mackenzie posted 13 points on the day.
