Game Notes

The Riverhawk men's soccer team earned their third straight shutout win this past Tuesday evening (9/25), defeating the NJCAA DI Region XX Seahawks of Cecil College. The match was hosted at Calvert Regional Park in North East, MD.

The victory was lead by AACC sophomore Noah Beall (Odenton, MD/Annapolis Area Christian School) with the, 3-0, final reflecting the sophomore's hat trick on the night. Goal number one of Beall's trio came 16 minutes into the first half, assisted by Peter Roberts (Pasadena, MD/Archbishop Spalding) and would be the lone goal of the half despite the 21 shots from the Riverhawk offense.

Giving AACC the 2-0 lead over Cecil, goal number two for Beall would come off an assist by Alexander Calogero (Davidsonville, MD/South River) seven minutes into the second half. As the Riverhawks continued to control the game as well as their offensive attack, the final goal for Beall (and the match) would be assisted once again by Roberts.

This is the third straight shutout (four total) for the Riverhawks with Head Coach Cosentino crediting sophomore Ryan Owens (Glen Burnie, MD/Glen Burnie) as a key factor in the exceptional efforts of these past shutouts with his leadership and skill on the defensive end. Although harder to gain recognition on the stat sheets as a defensive player, Owens did have two assists in the recent win over Catonsville last week.
