Riverhawks Exciting Walk-Off Win Against Thunder Wolves

ARNOLD, MD –Anne Arundel Community College's men's baseball team ended their week packed with games, playing Wednesday through Saturday. Wednesday they hosted a loss to Delaware Technical Community College, followed by a road loss to Harford Community College.

Breaking the two-game losing streak, the Riverhawks claimed a victory in game one of a double header vs. Niagara County Community College on Friday, and then followed up with two shutout wins against Garrett College on Saturday. AACC is now 7-10 on the season, and 3-1 in the conference.

Amongst all the action this weekend, it was the finish to game 1 against Niagara County Community College that really set the fans off. In such a close battle, Nathaniel Anthony stepped up to bat - down 6-5 in the bottom of the 7th with John-Vincent Louis and Brian Remaley on base.

Waiting for the right pitch, Anthony executes a perfect bunt – driving Louis, the tying run, home. During the failed attempt to stop Louis at home, the Thunder Wolves pitcher over threw his catcher allowing Remaley to use his speed to slide into home, grabbing the 7-6 win.

The close-knit battle would continue into game two of the double header, but this time in favor of the Thunder Wolves, as they were able to come out on top, winning 6-5

AACC seemed to carry over their excitement into Saturday's games with their impressive performances in the double header against Garrett College. Game one against the Lakers had the Riverhawk bats hot, as AACC won 10-0. Brady Helinski went 2-3 with 2 runs, Samuel Ryan was 2-3 with 1 run and 3 RBIs, and Brian Remaley grabbed 2 RBIs.

William Brown III recorded 8 strikeouts in 5 innings against 18 batters in the 10-0 shutout of game one.

The Lakers were able to slow down the scoring in game two, but with Riverhawk Dustin Gosnell throwing eleven strikeouts and allowing just 4 hits against 27 batters, AACC was able to hold off Garrett and secure a 2-0 victory.
