Westmoreland, playing as a club team this season, raced out to an early 18-6 lead to start the game. The Wolfpack's efficient shooting outpaced PSC throughout the half. WCCC carried a 48-39 advantage into intermission.

A more determined Potomac State team started the second half strong, scoring the first 12 points of the half to grab a 51-48 lead.

The second half featured multiple lead changes up to the 7:55 mark when a Wolfpack three-pointer put Westmoreland in front for good. The combination of clutch three-point field goals and foul shooting maintained the lead and secured the 86-78 WCCC win.

Thaddaeus Jordan scored a game-high 22 points and teammate Noah Smith added 20 points for the Catamounts.

Potomac State (1-1) hosts Westmoreland Sunday at 1:00 p.m. at Lough Gymnasium. The Sunday game, originally scheduled for a 3:00 p.m. start, was moved to an earlier time after an opponent canceled a 1:00 p.m. Potomac State women's basketball game for Covid concerns.
