Youngwood, Pa. – WVU Potomac State College fell behind early but rallied to dominate the second and third quarters in route to an 82-56 victory Monday evening in NJCAA Region XX Women's Basketball action.

Trailing 19-14 after the first period, Potomac State outscored the Wolfpack 28-10 in the second quarter to carry a 42-29 advantage into halftime. Lexi Turner and Jalynn Montgomery each scored eight second quarter points igniting the PSC outburst.

Montgomery exploded with 15 third quarter points and the Catamounts continued to dominate posting 27 points while surrendering just 10 to enter the final period with a comfortable 69-39 advantage.

PSC played the last quarter conservatively consuming time off the clock allowing WCCC a 17-13 advantage but closing the final score at 82-56.

Coach Larry Kruk noted, "We executed great offensively tonight. Jalynn (Montgomery) led with a dominant performance and Jaimalyn (Ash) had a strong offensive performance as well."

Montgomery led four Catamounts in double figures with a game-high 28 points on 12-23 field goal shooting, 1-5 on three pointers and 3-4 from the free throw line. Joining Montgomery in double figures were teammates Ash with 13 points, Turner with 12 points and Marliegh Bays with 11 points.

The Wolfpack were led offensively by Hannah Hempfield with 24 points and Mackenzie Markle with 22 points, but the duo's strong offensive performances wasn't enough to overcome the balanced Catamount attack.

Potomac State (5-5) travels to Arnold, Md on Wednesday, Jan. 22 to face Anne Arundel Community College at 5:00 p.m.
