Men’s Basketball Suffers Road Loss to Frederick Community College

FREDERICK, MD – The AACC men's basketball team fell to NJCAA Division II Frederick Community College, 79-49, in MD JUCO action Saturday afternoon.

AACC shot 31.6 percent from the floor on 18-of-57 shooting.  The Riverhawks went 5-25 from behind the arc, and were 8-12 at foul line.  Jemuel Brown led AACC with 16 points and 17 rebounds and Larry Stevenson, the only other Riverhawk to score double-digits, posted 14 points.

The Cougars, who improves their overall record to 11-13, shot 48.2 percent on the floor (27-56), and went 5-17 for three-pointers.  20 of their final 79 points came from the foul line as they went 20-29 for free throws.  O'Nel David led Frederick with 21 points for the day as Dashon Bell and Jordan Dawson each posted 11 points.

The Riverhawks will look to bounce back from their low-scoring loss, as they will host the Raptors of Montgomery College Monday, February 8th.  This will be an important conference and division match-up going into the final games of the season.  Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. in the Jenkins Gymnasium.
