Cardinals Survive An Overtime Thriller Against The Hawks

Catonsville, MD- The Cardinals survive an overtime thriller over the Hawks. After a scoreless first half, the Cardinals matched the Hawks with one goal apiece to end regulation. Iliass Zouita chipped in a goal at the 65th minute mark to tie the contest after the Hawks drew first blood with a goal at the 54th minute from Antone Perry. The Cardinals registered twenty-eight attempted shots with thirteen of those shots on goal.

The Cardinals also struggled with penalties from five different players, but fortunately didn't take away the victory in overtime. In addition, the Cardinals took advantage of eleven corner kicks that allowed the team to get better looks at the net. Most of the twenty-eight shot attempts resulted in wide misses to the right. Time of possession proved to be a huge factor for the Cardinals as they were able to create opportunities inside the goalie's box. In the 93rd minute, Adam Lane tallied a goal with an assist from Iliass Zouita to win the matchup.

The Cardinals will look to build on the momentum moving forward as they will travel to Allegany College of Maryland on Saturday, October 12th, at 12:00pm.
