Keyser, W.Va - The Potomac State Catamounts (6-5) hosted the Butler County Pioneers (3-7) at Lough Gymnasium on December 13th, 2023.
The Catamounts Kellen Tyson opened up the scoring with two early baskets to jump out 4-0 and would increase their lead 8-0 at 15:45 after a Damian Thompson three and a made free-throw by Camren Wilkes. The Catamounts would hold the lead despite the Pioneers cutting the deficit to 1 point but would go into the break leading 34-25. Butler County's Rocco Spadafora led both teams with 11 points in the opening half.
Potomac State opened the second frame with back-to-back three pointers from Thompson and Wilkes to go up 40-25. Wilkes would continue to add up points with a pair of threes to go up 48-27. The Catamounts would open the half scoring 14-2. Seven points from Ashton Neely and a three from Elam Pyle would cut the Catamount lead to only 10 points 52-42 at 11:35. From there, Potomac State would only continue to add to their lead and take the win 79-60 over the Pioneers.
Rocco Spadafora led the Pioneers with a game-high 17 points and 6 rebounds, with Bryson Kirschner adding 12 points 5 rebounds, and Ashton Neely with 11 points off of the bench.
Camren Wilkes led the Catamounts with 12 points, following by 10 points from Damian Thompson and Kellen Tyson. Daniel Charlot added 8 points and a game-high 16 rebounds and Gavin Barkley added 10 points off of the bench.
