Region Announces November Players of the Month

Congratulations to the NJCAA Region 20 Players of the Month for excellence in November, 2023. The Region recognized five student-athletes from four member institutions. 

Men's Basketball Division I
Cam'Ron Brown, So., G, Allegany College of Maryland
Through the month of November, Brown helped guide ACM to a 9-2 record and upset wins over four national-ranked teams to open the season. He averaged 13.9 points, 6.5 assists, 4.3 rebounds, and 3.5 steals per game. Brown leads NJCAA Division I in total assists and ranks second in total steals. He scored in double dights nine times in November with two 20-point games. Brown also posted a double-double in a 19 point, 14 assist game vs. Atlantic Cape.

Men's Basketball Division II
Ryan Blakey, So., G, College of Southern Maryland
Blakey averaged 21.6 points, 5.8 assists, 5.5 rebounds, and 4.5 steals per game in November. He scored at least 13 points in each game, recording a season-high 30 points against Virginia Peninsula. Blakey had two double-doubles in November, both with 11 assist efforts. He led Region 20 Division II players in assists with 46 and steals with 36.

Men's Basketball Division III
Saveon Jackson, So., G, Prince George's
Jackson was active on both sides of the ball in November, averaging 17.2 points, 7 rebounds, 4.8 assists, and 2.7 steals per game as Prince George's went 5-1 in the month, peaking as the #4 ranked DIII program in the nation. Jackson scored a season-high 23 points while shooting 80% from the floor in an 86-75 victory over WAU JV on November 16. The sophomore finished the month shooting a highly efficient 48.6% from the floor.

Women's Basketball Division II
Ayannah Gorham, Fr., G, Anne Arundel
Gorham averaged a double-double for the Riverhawks in November with 20.2 points and 12.2 rebounds per game. She pulled down 15 rebounds in her collegiate debut at Penn State York. Gorham recorded a career-high 33 points to go with 13 rebounds against Potomac State – while shooting 50% from the field (12-of-24). The performance was one of three double-doubles out of five games played during the month.

Women's Basketball Division III
Jai'Den Anderson, Fr., F, Prince George's
Anderson averaged 18 points, 7.5 rebounds, 4 steals, and 2 assists per game during the month to help the Owls hold the #11 spot in the DIII weekly rankings. Anderson kicked off her collegiate career with a 21-point, 6 rebound performance against a nationally ranked Northampton team. She followed up with a near double-double during a 15-point, 9 rebound win against Allegany College.
