Butler County Community College Wins Division III Volleyball Championship

BUTLER, PA. Butler County Community College hosted and won the Region 20 Division III Volleyball tournament on October 22. To open the day, top ranked Pioneers defeated Anne Arundel Community College 3-0 (25-17, 26-24, 25-11) in the first semi-final to advance to the championship match. The second semi-final of the day saw #2 Westmoreland County Community College face #3 Howard Community College. Howard would upset Westmoreland 3-0 (25-15, 25-16, 25-16) to advance to meet Butler. Westmoreland defeated Howard 3-1 earlier in the season.

Meeting at 4pm on Championship Saturday, Howard and Butler contended for the Region Title. It would be Butler earning the victory on their home floor, winning 3-0 (25-21, 25-11, 25-21).

Butler advances to the NJCAA Division III Mid-Atlantic A/B Championship hosted by Sandhills Community College on October 29.
