Southern Maryland, Howard claim men’s Region 20 Championships

College of Southern Maryland won the NJCAA Region 20 Division I Men’s Cross Country Championship on Saturday, Oct. 24, at Hagerstown Community College.  Howard (Md.) Community College captured the Division III championship.

Potomac State College’s Jared Hallow (DIII) was the first across the finish line with a time of 27:18. Chris Vitek (28:33), from Harford Community College, was top finisher in the Division I race.

CSM defeated host Hagerstown to win the DI championship and had four runners in the top seven.

Howard had four runners in the top-seven in the Division III results to defeat runners-up Potomac State.

The NJCAA Division I Championship is Saturday, Nov. 14, in Fort Dodge, Iowa.  The Division III NJCAA National Championship is on Saturday, Nov. 7, in Holyoke, Mass.
