Catamounts snag two in home opener

Potomac state enjoyed two wins in their home opener against Corning Community College. The Catamounts take thier record to 4-2 on the year. 

Potomac State started the first game hot, taking game 1 8-0. 

The Catamounts finished game 1 with 9 hits. The defensive game was just as good with freshman starter Abby Peace in the circle, pitching a complete game only allowing 2 hits and 9 strikeouts. 

Alexis Bailey went 3-for-3, with a double and 2 RBIs for Potomac State. Alexa Shoemaker homered and had three RBIs.

Ashley Joll and Simone Blanks eached doubled aswell. Joll had one RBI and Blanks with 2 in the game. 

 

Game 2 was much of the same for the Catamounts, as they took that game 14-2.

Potomac State's offense only put up 7 hits, but got the job done scoring 14 runs and making Sophomore Pitcher Jenna Burkhamer's job easy. Burkhamer pitched 3 innings only allowing 2 hits and no runs with 2 SO.

Multiple players had RBIs, coming from Grace Walsh, Alexa ShoemakerKatelin SecristKasey Pope (3), Peace, Joll (2), Mia Kincaid, and Courtney Adams

Schulze came in to pitch in the final 2 innings of the game striking out 2 and giving up 3 hits and 2 runs.
