BATAVIA, NY… The nationally-ranked Genesee Community College men's soccer team defeated NJCAA Division I CCBC Essex Knights 3-1 Sunday afternoon for their ninth win of the season.  

Ed Port scored less than 10 minutes in to opening the scoring with the assist coming from Hiago Barros de Souza. Cameron Logan scored with Barros de Souza getting his second assist on the day to double the Cougars lead midway through the opening half. Port scored his second of the game less than 20 minutes remaining in the second half with Ryan Curtis getting the assist to give Genesee their two-goal lead back at 3-1.

Marcus Kenline and Adrian Bergman split time in net for Genesee.

Genesee (9-2) returns to action on Wednesday, October 2 at home against Jamestown Community College. Gametime against WNYAC conference foe Jayhawks is at 4:00pm and the game will be streamed live on www.geneseeathletics.com
