The Carroll golf team played thier first official contest on April 4th, 2023, landing in second place at the South River Shootout hosted by Anne Arundel.
Anne Arundel led the day with a total score of 314, followed by Carroll's score of 348. Hagerstown came in a very close third, shooting a 350 overall.
Nathan Leppo lead the Lynx on Tuesday, shooting 82 through eighteen holes with a 42 on the front nine. Zach Taylor found himself not too far behind, scoring 84 on the round with an impressive 39 on the back nine, which was tied for third best across the board. When asked about his team's performance, Head Coach Kevin Piecewicz said "The team has been working hard since January and it showed. Thanks to outstanding rounds from Nathan Leppo and Zach Taylor, we finished better than expected. I'm really proud of the team and truly thankful for the outpouring of support we received from everyone at the school."
Carroll will look to get the first victory of the season on April 6th, hosting a tournament at their home course Oakmont Green. Given the familiarity the players have with the course, look for scores to be lower overall for the Lynx.
