Lady Bobcats Suffer First Loss of 2024, Second Loss of the Season at Catonsville.
The Bryant & Stratton Lady Bobcats traveled on the road to face a good Catonsville Cardinals team on Wednesday evening.
The Bobcats faced off against an unfamiliar opponent and came out unfamiliar to what they have shown this season. In a major upset, the nationally-ranked #18 Bobcats were stunned by the Cardinals on Wednesday with a 55-72 loss on the road, snapping their 19 game record setting win streak and perfect 2024 campaign.
The Bobcats are typical sound in is taking care of the ball but to give the Cardinals' defense credit, they forced 28 turnovers and recorded 13 steals to put the pressure on the Bobcats.
The Bobcats lead 15-12 after the first quarter but completely crumbled in the second. The Bobcats were held to their lowest scoring quarter of the season as the Cardinals outscored them 3-32 in the second, their most lopsided quarter of the entire season.
The Bobcats would head into halftime down 18-44, their largest deficit all season, however the Bobcats had one last push to get back in the game after the third quarter holding the cardinals to 6pts cutting the deficit to 14. In the 4th, the Bobcats would not be unable to overcome the lead that was set and would go down (55-72).
This was the last road contest for the Bobcats (23-2) as they will finish out the regular season at home for their remaining 3 games. Up next, the Bobcats will host the Southwest Flying Eagles (17-7) on a 7 game win streak on Saturday, 1pm & then the following day, host the Johnston Jaguars (9-16) at 1pm in their Sophomore Night game.
