MIDDLESEX COLLEGE MENS BASKETBALL WINS TWO ON TRIP TO MARYLAND

Middlesex College Men's Basketball continued its hot start to the season by winning both games on a trip to Maryland.

The Colts came from behind to top the College of Southern Maryland 82-80 and followed that up by beating Anne Arundel Community College 78-67.

Against Southern Maryland (3-3), Middlesex received 19 points each from Jahmere Glover (Sophomore/Irvington, NJ) and Sean Williams (Freshman/Old Bridge, NJ) and 18 points from Savion Pressley (Sophomore/Woodbridge, NJ) in a game that saw the Colts outscore the Hawks 49-44 in the second half to capture a two-point win.

Williams added seven assists and nine rebounds, both team highs. Glover notched nine rebounds as well. Jakin Edmond (Sophomore/Union, NJ) added 12 points for Middlesex as well.

The Colts were back in action the very next day and responded with another win. This time, Middlesex relied on solid defense and a strong second half offense to pull away from the Riverhawks.

Middlesex was down 30-28 at the half, but outscored Anne Arundel (1-2) 50-37 in the second half on the way to an 11-point win.  

Pressley again starred on offense for Middlesex, scoring 24 points with 21 of them coming in the second half. Glover had another impressive game as well, scoring 20 points for the Colts. It was the Glover's first 20-point performance of the season.

Glover paced Middlesex with five rebounds and Pressley had four steals as well.

Nigel Garcia (Sophomore/Maplewood, NJ) had 10 points off the bench for Middlesex.

Middlesex looks to continue their strong start on Tuesday when they travel to Mercer CC for a key early season NJCAA Division II matchup. Tipoff is set for 7:00PM.
