Taylor Nets Career-Best 24 as AACC Beats Frederick Community College, 87-78

FREDERICK, MD – Dania Taylor earned a double-double with her career high 24 points paired with 10 assists as AACC defeated host Frederick Community College, 87-78, in a MD JUCO women's basketball contest on Saturday. 

AACC improves to 5-17 on the season and 2-9 in the conference, as Frederick falls to 9-14 on their season and 5-7 in the conference.

Tia Byrd scored 29 points on the day as Alijah Gee and Fatimah Blake each contributed 21 points to the Cougars team total.  Frederick Community College shot 34.6% going 27-78, with 9-33 from beyond the arc and 15-26 at the foul line. 

The Riverhawks shot 37% at 34-92 on the floor, 2-7 for three-pointers and shot 77.3% at the foul line (17-22).

In addition to Dania Taylor, Mary Ajoh Kuch also recorded a double-double putting up 16 points while grabbing an astounding 25 rebounds.  Allison Stahl recorded 14 points, Bri'ana Oliver had 13, and Heather Young posted 11 points.

The Riverhawks hope to keep this scoring momentum going as they host the Raptors of Montgomery College for a conference and division match-up.  Tip-off is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. Monday, February 8th in the Jenkins Gymnasium.
