NCCC splits at Garrett College Showcase

Niagara County Community College split a pair of one-point games at this past weekend's David K. Martin Legacy Shoawcase hosted by Garrett College. The Thunderwolves are now 3-1 with a contest at Finger Lakes CC set to tip at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Niagara CCC 62, Potomac State 61

Sophomore guard Ana Valerie Odom nailed a 3-pointer as time expired to lift the Thunderwolves to the come-from-behind victory. NCCC out-scored the Catamounts 21-10 in the fourth quarter. Freshman guard Alliyah Gillespie led the T-Wolves with 17 points, eight rebounds and three steals. Sophomore forward Albanellys Perez finished with 15 points and 18 rebounds and sophomore point guard Ericka Thompson chipped in with 10 points.

Garrett College 71, Niagara CCC 70

Kadijah Anderson's free throw with less than four seconds left lifted the Lady Lakers to the win. Gillespie, who had a game-high 24 points and six rebounds, got a good look in the lane as time expired but the attempt caromed off the rim. Freshman wing Taliyah Hopkins added 11 points and five boards for NCCC.
