FREDERICK, MD… The Genesee men's basketball team had a fast start on Saturday afternoon against the Frederick Community College Cougars but fell in overtime 91-89 to drop their season record to 6-2.

GCC was up by seven at halftime but was outscored 53-44 in the second half and overtime combined.

For the second consecutive game, Jarett Haines led Genesee in scoring as the sophomore scored a game-high 31 points while shooting 12-20 from the field. Jamir Cheek scored 11 points and added seven rebounds and six assists. Reigning Genesee Male Athlete of the Week Kevin Major also added 11 points.
