NCCC clips Harford at ACM Tourney

Niagara County Community College knocked off NJCAA Div. I opponent Harford Community College to highlight action at this past weekend's Personal Best Tip-Off Classic hosted by Allegany College of Maryland. The Thunderwolves, ranked No. 11 in the latest NJCAA Div. II preseason poll, are now 4-2 overall on the young season. N-Trip returns to action at 7 p.m. Saturday for a tilt with National power Henry Ford College as part of the NCCC Tip-Off Classic. 

Niagara CCC 81, Harford CC 76

NCCC connected on 14 of its 27 attempts from the 3-point line in the victory. Freshman guard Jamyier Patton had a team-high 16 points, while sophomore guard Julian Cunningham stuffed the stat sheet with 11 points, five rebounds, four assists and three steals. Freshman Jalen Duff finished with 10 points and six assists, sophomore forward Jaral Farmer added 10 points and six boards, sophomore wing Finn Mohl was 4-for-4 from 3-point range for 12 points and freshman swingman Navary Sandy contributed eight points and 10 rebounds. 

Howard CC 69, Niagara CCC 57

The T-Wolves, who were out-rebounded 56-42, were out-scored by the nationally-ranked Dragons 37-21 after intermission. Duff notched 15 points and seven rebounds off the bench, while Sandy finished with 14 points and seven boards. Cunningham chipped in with 13 points in the loss.

Allegany College of Maryland 86, Niagara CCC 67

N-Trip mustered just 28 first-half points and fell victim to 25 turnovers against the Div. I Trojans. Cunningham scored 13 points, sophomore forward Trevon Gifford had 12 points off the bench and Sandy chipped in with eight points and 10 rebounds.
