Hawks Sweep Garrett College Lakers

The College of Southern Maryland Hawks softball team is 7-7 overall after sweeping the Garrett College Lakers on April 8. CSM won Game 1 18-0 in five innings and took Game 2 19-0 in five innings.

 

Game 1

Elaina Ayers had a game-high five RBIs for the Hawks as she belted her third home run of the season - a two-run blast - in the third inning.

Kaela Gilligan and Marissa Herndon both were perfect at the plate, going 4-4 and each driving in two runs. Larissa Simmonds also had two RBIs as she went 3-3 at the plate.

Tia Dixon recorded her first hits of the season as she went 2-3 with an RBI and two runs scored.

Madison Kavlick had four strikeouts and allowed only three hits from the circle.

Every CSM player had at least one hit and scored at least one run.

 

Game 2

Gilligan had five strikeouts and allowed only one hit from the circle.

Ayers notched another home run to up her season total to four with a grand slam in the fourth inning; she finished with a game-high five RBIs again.

Ayers and Abby Norris went 4-4 at the plate with Norris scoring four runs and driving in two, and Cameron Guy went 3-3 with three runs scored and three RBIs.
