Seahawks Best Hawks, 9-4

NORTH EAST, Md. - Cecil picked up its first conference victory of the season on Monday via 9-4 scoreline.

The Seahawks got off to a fast start, scoring three runs in the bottom of the first to take an early lead. After a leadoff groundout, Dylan Byler secured a walk and Nate Ewing doubled. A wild pitch advanced Ewing and scored Byler, with a second wild pitch two batters later eventually plating Ewing. Justin Cordero singled to left with two outs, and eventually made his way around home on a Lane Weismiller RBI double.

Cecil capitalized on another Hagerstown error to score a run in the third and fourth. A three-run home run off the bat of Justin Cordero in the fourth boosted Cecil's advantage to 8-2. Hagerstown cut the deficit to four in the sixth, but the Seahawks scored one in the bottom of the frame and then held off the Hawks in the seventh to walk away with the win.

The Seahawks improve to 2-7 after game one's result.
