Baseball Splits with PSU Fayette

Westmoreland County Community College weathered a push by Penn state fayette in the sixth inning to secured their  first victory of the season thanks to nine runs in the sixth inning.  Logan Short, Jake Piktel, Tanner Colflesh, Andy Person, Alex Borges, and  Jack McBride each had RBIs in the big inning.
 
The Wolfpack scored nine runs in the sixth inning.  The offensive onslaught came from walks by Short and Piktel, a single by Person, a sac fly by Borges,  by Colflesh, an error on a ball put in play by McBride, and a double by Dom Koch.  Westmoreland racked up a season high 15 hits.  Kam Pritts, Koch, Borges, and Person each racked up multiple hits for Westmoreland CCC Baseball 2023.  Koch and Pritts each managed three hits to lead the Wolfpack.
 
Travis Keister was the winning pitcher for Westmoreland CCC Baseball 2023. Keister went three innings, allowing two runs on three hits and striking out three.  Jake Albaugh threw three innings in relief out of the bullpen.
 
 
 
In Game two Westmoreland fell behind early, and couldn't come back in a 6-4 loss to Penn state fayette.  Westmoreland got things moving in the first inning, when Joe Druga's sac fly scored one run for the Wolfpack.  Logan Short and Andrew Ruddock each collected one hit to lead the Wolfpack.  Westmoreland didn't commit a single error in the field. Ruddock had  eight chances in the field, the most on the team.
 
Connor Lee took the loss for Westmoreland CCC Baseball 2023. The pitcher lasted four innings, allowing three hits and three runs while striking out six.
 
The baseball team will be back on teh field tomorrow vs Penn State Fayette in a single game on Sunday.
