ARNOLD, MD – Led by a pair of free kick goals from Alex Calogero, the Anne Arundel Community College men's soccer team handed CCBC Catonsville a 3-0 loss on Friday evening.
Calogero, who nailed both goals from more than 20 yards out, put AACC on the board in the 32nd minute.
The 1-0 lead stood through the break and up to the 70th minute when Jack Castle pounced on a misplayed ball between a Cardinals defender and goalkeeper. The goal marked the second in as many games for the freshman.
Calogero added his second of the night in the 79th minute for the sophomore's first multiple goal game.
Brendan LeMaster posted three saves in the win, as AACC controlled play for the bulk of the game, including a 12-5 advantage in shots.
The Riverhawks (4-3-1) travel to Carroll on Tuesday, October 1st, for a 4 pm game.
