CCBC Catonsville's baseball team scored their first home win of the season, defeating Lakeland Community College 11-1 in game one of their doubleheader. In their most dominant win of the season, the Cardinals excelled on all levels.
The Cardinals entered the afternoon looking to bounce back from a pair of losses. The team found themselves rolling on all cylinders from the start, as they took a 4-0 lead entering the top of the fifth. Freshman first baseman Nick Stergiou (Westminster) made his presence felt with three RBIs and a three-run home run in the bottom of the fourth.
Freshman pitcher Cecil Barone (Hereford) pitched a complete game, ending the afternoon with eight strikeouts, 80 strikes thrown, and a win. Late in the game, the Cardinals made it clear that they weren't leaving without a double-digit lead. Sophomore shortstop Orlando Perez Jr (Winter Park) and sophomore outfielder Caleb Bailey (Old Mill) added a run each to force an 11–run lead and end this game by mercy rule in the bottom of the sixth.
