Hawks committed to success in 2023-24

Hagerstown Community College Men's Basketball opens at home tonight at 6:30 p.m. in the ARCC on the campus of HCC. The Hawks 1-0, after a win over WVU Potomac State College on Saturday at the Personal Best Tip-Off hosted by Garrett College, play the Catamounts again tonight in the regularly scheduled Region 20 match up.

This year's squad is made up of Trent Walker, a true sophomore forward from Hastings, FL, (Bishop John J. Snyder High School), and red shirt sophomores guards, Eric Bass from Owings Mills, MD, (New Town High School), and Hassan Perkins from Wilmington, DE, (Sanford School). Red shirt freshman guards for the Hawks are Logan Butts from Hagerstown, MD, (Middletown High School), Deondre Mitchell from Verona, PA, (Penn Hills High School), and Tariq Martin from Baltimore, MD, (Catonsville High School). True freshman filling out the roster are guards Tristan Cook from Boonsboro, MD, (St. Maria Goretti catholic High School), Boran Dogan from Fairplay, MD, (Broadfording Christian Academy), Dakari Enworom from Greenbelt, MD, (Eleanor Roosevelt High School), Emmanuel Acquah from Hagerstown, MD, (Williamsport High School), center, Emmanuel Obiora from Queens, NY, (The Potter's House Christian Academy), and forwards, Joede Mebane from Baltimore, MD, (St. Frances Academy), Tanyon Shaull from Waynesboro, PA, (Waynesboro Area Senior High School), and Mason Sword from Palm Coast, FL, (St. Joseph Academy).

"We have a really good group of committed young men making up this year's team," commented Head Coach, Bernard Hopkins. "As we play the early games of our schedule, these kids will go through the process of getting playing experience and realizing the increased speed of the game at this level."

Hagerstown travels to Wilminton, NC this weekend to play in the Tyrek Coger Classic at Cape Fear Community College. The Hawks face the Brunswick Community College Dolphins at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, November 10th, and play the Cape Fear Sea Devils on Saturday, November 11th at 3:00 p.m.
