Late Innings Leap Lakers over Seahawks

NORTH EAST, Md. - A trio of RBI singles in the final two innings handed game one of Cecil's doubleheader with Garrett to the Lakers on Monday afternoon.

Game Highlights

Both teams were held off the board until the top of the fifth, when a sacrifice flyout plated one run for Garrett. The Seahawks responded in the bottom fifth with two runs that were scored via error and an RBI single.

The Lakers would not stay down for long, as a Cecil error allowed Garrett to tie the game in the sixth. An RBI single of their own landed the Lakers two more runs before being retired. One more base knock in the seventh made the score 5-2 in favor of the visitors.

A one-out double off the bat of Lane Weismiller threatened Garrett in the seventh. However, Cecil's next two batters flied out to end the contest.

Cecil drops to 12-18 (4-6 MD JUCO) after the defeat.
