Bauer Dominates in Shutout Victory

CCBC Catonsville swept the Riverhawks of Anne Arundel Community College on Saturday with a dominant pitching performance.

Across seven complete innings, sophomore pitcher Patrick Bauer (Mt. St. Joseph) threw 12 strikeouts and allowed just two hits.

Catonsville struck first offensively in the top of the first as sophomore shortstop Moises Aristy Jr. (Arundel) brought home freshman outfielder Jalen Williams (Western Tech). This would be the only score for most of the game as the Cardinals found themselves in a tight pitching duel with Anne Arundel.

Luckily for the Cardinals, Bauer was on his a-game. The veteran pitcher allowed just two hits and only five batters on base all game.

Finally, in the top of the seventh, the Cardinals struck again when sophomore second baseman Christian Figueroa (St. Mary's) scored on a wild pitch. While it wasn't pretty, the 2-0 victory allowed the Cardinals to complete the sweep of AACC.
