Knights Take Two From Cecil

BALTIMORE, Md. - Cecil dropped a pair of road games to Region 20 Divison 2 rival CCBC-Essex on Saturday afternoon.

The Seahawks drop to 13-21.

Game One - Essex 4, Cecil 1 - Box Score

A pair of home runs made all the difference in the opener, as Cecil struggled to score during its game one loss.

The Seahawks produced just five hits and no walks over seven frames. Dylan Byler's RBI-double in the third scored Kevin Gamber for the lone run of the day.

The Knights of Essex received its production via a solo shot in the second and a two-run blast in the third. An obstruction call on the Seahawks plated the Knights their fourth run.

Cecil starter Kyle Stively (1-3) tossed all six innings for the Seahawks. He struck out three and walked one.

Game Two - Essex 3, Cecil 2 - Box Score

The Seahawks fell on the wrong side of another close game, surrenduring one run in the final two innings to be handed its second defeat of the day.

Cecil's offense was once again starved for hits, recorded zero extra-base knocks. A sacrifice fly in the second and an Essex error scored the runs for the Seahawks.

The Knights trailed 2-1 entering the sixth, but an RBI-double with one out tied the contest. Cecil failed to add any insurance in the seventh, giving the Knights a chance for a walk-off. Essex would capitalize, scoring one on a single to right to end the game.

Dylan Byler (1-1) was tabbed for the loss, while started Dylan Nickle received a no decision.
